Dental X-Rays (Radiographs)

“What are X-Rays?”

Dental x-rays are diagnostic tools that provide crucial information not readily visible during a dental exam. Dentists use the information contained in x-rays to find hidden dental problems and make accurate treatment plans.

Dental x-rays can detect:

  • Teeth decay
  • Painful abscesses
  • Cancerous and benign tumors
  • Poor root positions

“But I Don’t Know if X-Rays are Safe”

Dental x-rays only produce a very low level of radiation and are considered to be safe. Dr. Jahangiri will make sure that the necassary precautions are taken to limit your exposure. These precautions will include using a lead apron to shield your body, modern digital sensors, and low scattering units that reduces your exposure time to each x-ray.
