How to Get Whiter Teeth

Feb 18, 2013

A bright white smile can open the doors of opportunity and boost your confidence. Our society places a high premium on white teeth, so it’s worth considering professional treatment.

At Noble Smile, we offer a customized whitening treatment that starts at our office and ends at home. First, we take impressions of your teeth to make custom whitening trays. After making sure the clear trays fit properly, you head home to use the professional-strength whitening solution.

To make sure you get the most out of your whitening treatment, it is wise to avoid certain things — or at least enjoy them in extreme moderation:

Tobacco: Tobacco severely stains teeth over time, and the stains can be very difficult to remove. If you’re currently trying to quit, add “whiter teeth” to your list of reasons why.

Red wine, sodas, tea & coffee: Curb your intake of these beverages to help keep your teeth free from stains. Also, try drinking through a straw to decrease the fluid’s contact with teeth.

Baking soda toothpaste: It seems counterintuitive, but baking soda toothpaste is not the best choice when you’re aiming for whiter teeth. The baking soda can scratch porcelain veneers or composite resins, making teeth vulnerable to staining. Only natural tooth enamel responds to teeth whitening treatments, so you have even more incentive to keep your crowns/veneers free from damage.

A beautifully white smile doesn’t have to be out of reach. If you are in the Katy area, contact Noble Smile today to get started.
